According to this item in The Star, "Canadians guzzled $18 billion worth of booze last year (2007) ... an increase of 4.9 per cent over the previous year."
The Citizen reports that "Moderate drinking shrinks the brain" leading to an increased "risk of dementia and problems with thinking, learning and memory."
And now, Canadians return the Harper Cons to power with a stronger minority.
Coincidence?
I think not.

Even in jest this is offensive. It has nothing to do with a terribly run campaign, a leader with zero ability to communicate and connect, a poorly conceived platform that wasn't properly costed...
Strategically - it had nothing to do with elevating a one issue party that ended up canabalizing your own vote (more than the votes of the NDP BTW).
No the Liberal Party of Canada did sooo poorly because Canadians are drunk and stupid...
Nice, really nice
Liberals? Who said anything about Liberals? This isn't about Liberals losing (for all the reasons you so sarcastically mention), it's about Conservatives winning.
I just thought this was an interesting juxtaposition of headlines since clearly enough Canadians lost their collective memory of the Cons' lies, dishonesty, extreme social viwepoints, etc., etc., to give them another minority by voting for them.
And it is kind of funny. Lighten up.

I find it fascinating how offended everyone gets by everything now. Relax, jenn, you'll live longer.
