Harper Conservatives give us all yet another reason to turf their sorry asses

According to this article in Healthzone, “A question about pregnant women and the H1N1 vaccine provoked a bizarre bout of heckling and laughter on the Tory benches in the Commons on Tuesday.”

Showing their class once again and reaffirming their disdain for Canadians in general and women in particular, the “Harper Government” shouted down Liberal MP Carolyn Bennett when she tried to ask a question related to the kind of vaccinations pregnant women should be getting.

“I "just was astounded," she told reporters after question period. "I don't know why these people think it's funny or whether it's just offensive or what it is. ... They were just heckling and laughing."”

Another disgusting display by the Reform-a-Tories.

“What’s up with Arizona politicians?” indeed

john_mccain

Only a couple of days after Napolitano’s ignorant remarks about the Canadian border and her assertion that the 9/11 terrorists crossed into the US from Canada, Arizona Senator John McCain tells Fox News, "Well, some of the 9/11 hijackers did come through Canada, as you know."

As Forrest Gump would say, “Stupid is as stupid does.”

"It's the Liberals fault!" - Queen's Park version

Six Nations protesters and the OPP are facing off over a blockade in Caledonia. It's heating up and tensions are building. Then Ontario's Aboriginal Affairs Minister Michael Bryant steps in and helps defuse the situation, thus possibly avoiding a serious altercation that could conceivably have ended up with injuries or worse. Should be a good thing, right? Six Nations Chief Montour thought so, and sent Bryant a letter thanking him.

Oops - mistake. The provincial Tories got a copy of the letter and now claim that it's an "incriminating document" that contains "serious allegations" against the provincial Liberals. Conservative leader Runciman is now calling for an RCMP investigation into their claim of political interference in the OPP operation.

Stupid. Just stupid.

How will this work again?

Florida is trying to enact a Droopy Pants law, in part because of the fashion’s origins, which, according to the article, was in prisons where the saggy pants were worn by inmates as an indicator they were looking for sex.

And so what’s the penalty for wearing droopy pants in school you ask? Up to 60 days in jail.

There was no mention whether offenders would be able to take their pants with them.

Stand by your man ....

Now that everyone else has had a kick at the can about the Spitzer scandal, it’s my turn. Eliot Spitzer obviously showed a serious lapse of judgement (several times) and deserves whatever he gets in my opinion. But this isn’t about him so much as it is about his wife.

Look at this picture – Silda Spitzer would rather be getting a root canal without anaesthetic than be standing there beside her husband. So why is she? How is it that these politicians can do something so mind-numbingly stupid, get caught, and then convince their wives to stand stoically by their side and share in their personal humiliation and embarrassment? I know if this was me, I’d be on my own in front of the cameras. That’s not to say I’d be necessarily headed for divorce court (although that would be a distinct possibility if there was 80 grand and a few hookers in the equation), but the message from my wife would be pretty clear: “You did it. You deal with it.” And you know what? She would be right.
